Mr. Faulkner Comes Home

The event begins at 1 p. m. Sunday, September 28, with our traditional mint juleps, Mr. Faulkner’s favorite libation, served in silver julep cups, our gift to patrons. The event will include an open bar, brunch, music, and our annual auction of a Faulkner-related painting – this year, Mr. Faulkner Comes Home by Grayce DeNoia Bochak, shown here. Grayce DeNoia Bochak, who created this year’s image of William Faulkner, is a fine artist, who was graduated from Temple University and received her MFA in Painting from Marywood University.

Her artwork was selected to be exhibited at Society of Illustrators’ Original Art Exhibition. She was featured in The Very Best of Book Illustration compiled by the Society of Illustrators, as well as The Art- ist’s Magazine, and Step by Step Graphics publications. Skill as a hand painted paper collage artist is shown in Grayce’s published books: The Gamemaster, Paper Boats, The Long Silk Strand. Her picture books were chosen to be printed as Bound to Stay Books, receiving starred reviews from both Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews.

Grayce maintains a cottage studio in Cape May County, NJ. She also gathers inspiration when in residence on Pirate’s Alley in New Orleans. Most current paintings delicately reflect her fascina- tion with the mysteries of these two popular destinations.
