About the Author
Carolyn Levy was born and reared in Uptown New Orleans. In fourth grade she tested extremely high in writing ability. When her mother did not attend the award presentation she told the teacher, “My Mother doesn’t have time to show up for all the awards I get.” She has remained humorously outspoken since. She earned a BA in French and Spanish at LSUNO (now University of New Orleans.) She worked for United Fruit Company in Boston and pursued a Masters at Northeastern. When she returned to New Orleans, she married attorney, A. J. Levy. From 1971-1979 she owned and operated a tourism business – Tour-Settes of America. Now, she travels widely — writing constantly on airplanes, in airports, hotels. Her husband writes law books and their daughter, Elizabeth Levy Kleinveld, has published five books. She lives in an old Victorian home
in Uptown New Orleans.
