Edward Schwarzschild is the author of Responsible Men, a San Francisco Chronicle Best Book of the Year, a BookSense Notable Pick, and a finalist for the Rome Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Samuel Goldberg and Sons Foundation Prize for Jewish Fiction. The Family Diamond is his most recent book, set in Philadelphia and concentrating on narratives about family. His work has appeared in Tin House, Fence, Quarterly Review, and the Yale Journal of Criticism. He lives in upstate New York with his writer wife Elisa Albert and their son. He works as an associate professor at the University of Albany, and is a fellow at the New York State Writers Institute.
