About the Artist
Jaymes Bullet is a poet living in New Orleans. She also is a recording artist known for her darkly sultry, cinematic sound. From the perspective of songwriter and musician to the disciplines of recording and producing, her approach has always been grounded in the visual. She cites among her influences, Billie Holiday, David Lynch, Hitchcock, 4AD and classic Film Noir. Her work has spanned over two decades and produced a prolific number of original tracks. In 2014 Jaymes’ song “In Your Grave” was featured in director Mark Waters’ (Mean Girls) film Vampire Academy and headed up the film’s hit soundtrack compilation (Universal), which included songs by such pop notables as Katie Perry, Iggy Azalea and Goldfrapp. Her music has played a compelling part in a number of TV series including Showtime’s wildly successful The L Word. Having lived and worked in Atlanta, NYC, and Los Angeles, Bullet has enjoyed collaborations with a wide range of musical talents, including Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter/remixer Eric Kupper. The two penned “Measure Up”, the top track for 2004 Winter Chill series from UK label Hed Kandi. She writes and records new material for her Bayou Noir Records label in New Orleans. Her longstanding Night Island Music Publishing company provides professional licensing to clients, among them, Universal, Warner Bros, Showtime, Fox, Reliance.
