Margaret Orr is a mom and grandmother who lives in New Orleans with family and a fur boy named Skye who likes to play ball and dig in the garden. Margaret retired from WDSU-TV after forty-five years. She was chief meteorologist and recognized with Emmys for her coverage of hurricanes and tornadoes.
Many credit her with helping to save lives during dangerous weather. She was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Press Club of New Orleans and the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. In 2025, the broadcasters association also inducted her into its hall of fame. Margaret now has time to go to baseball games, pick up grandchildren from school, and help with homework. She still sends out a daily forecast on social media. Some things never change.
