Monika Wikman Ph.D.

Monika Wikman Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst who trained in Switzerland. She is author of Pregnant Darkness: Alchemy and the Renewal of Consciousness (Nicolas-Hays), along with various articles and poems in journals and periodicals, and co-author of an award winning screenplay Rites of Passage (Moondance Film Festival, 2010.) A transplant from San Diego, CA, Monika has worked and enjoyed life with her horses and husky in Santa Fe, NM for 25 years. She travels extensively both in the U.S. and internationally, lecturing to an eclectic variety of groups on the mysteries of dreams, alchemy, gnosticism, illness/healing, and related topics. Her 1980s doctorate in clinical psychology took her deep into the study of dreams and illness at the UC San Diego Medical Center. This work and her personal experience as a survivor of stage IV ovarian cancer inform the foundation of her work in psychiatry. Currently Dr. Wikman is working on a manuscript on alchemy, Jung and Sufism. Of special note are discussions of dreams that relate to the collective problems of our day.
